Delete your The Kosher account

You can delete your account yourself, at any time, from inside the app — you don’t need to ask us.

On the web: go to your profile and use Delete your account at the bottom of the page.
On iOS or Android: open the Profile tab and tap Delete account.

Deletion starts when you confirm and cannot be undone once accepted. If cleanup is still pending, the screen shows that status. Provider outages can delay completion; pending work is saved for retry. If you can’t sign in to reach the control, email hello@thekosher.app from the address on your account and we will do it for you.

What we delete

We delete the data tied to your user ID — profile settings, saved preferences, saved restaurants, lists, check-ins, reviews and their photos, saved and recent searches, location alerts, and mobile push notification tokens.

If you linked a WhatsApp number, we also delete the associated conversation history with the bot, the interaction log, your 👍/👎 feedback, your saved location pin, and any pending verification codes. Unlinking your number does the same for that data without deleting the account.

Finally we delete your sign-in identity itself. Signing in again with the same email address afterwards creates a brand-new, empty account — it does not restore anything.

What may remain

Minimal deletion receipts and hashed identifiers remain to prevent delayed work from recreating deleted data or sending messages. Directory facts and moderation outcomes may remain after your personal wording, attachments and attribution are removed.

Provider backups can retain earlier snapshots until their configured retention period expires. Messages already delivered to your device or forwarded to someone else are outside this account cleanup.

Timing

Account access closes when deletion is accepted. Cleanup proceeds through stored files, account data and the sign-in identity. We report completion only after those steps are confirmed. A request can remain pending while a provider is unavailable; there is no guaranteed completion time.

Email requests are processed as soon as reasonably practical after we verify the request. If we need more information to verify your account, we will reply to your email.
